M. Colin Bresee

About Us

M. Colin Bresee graduated from law school in Michigan in 1992.  While in law school his excellence in academics landed him on the Law Review.  Mr. Bresee co-won the "Top Gun" award in his final year of law school.  The award was a recognition of the brightest and best member of the prestigious Law Review publication.

After law school, Colin was contracted as a prosecutor for the Denver City Attorney's Office.  Mr. Bresee moved on from the City Attorney's Office to the Mesa County District Attorney's Office in Grand Junction, Colorado.  After two years of service to that office, he then left for new challenges in the San Miguel District Attorney's Office in Telluride, Colorado.  As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Bresee prosecuted and did numerous felony and misdemeanor cases and jury trials in the other counties in that Judicial District, specifically Delta, Montrose, Ouray, Gunnison.  In addition to all of these obligations, Mr. Bresee traveled to other Judicial Districts in Colorado as a "Special Prosecutor" on complex, and conflicted cases.

In 1997, Mr. Bresee departed from his role of public service to open his own private criminal defense firm.  His experience as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney continues to prove itself invaluable in his practice.  Mr. Bresee extensive background has proven to him that there are thousands of innocent people spending time in prison for offenses they didn't do.  The legal process and the inequity of financial resources is the reasons why so many guiltless people are clogging our prisons at taxpayers expense.

This is the driving force behind this firm, to treat each case, and each individual client like a person.
